On a bad day
- 1Open it anywhere. There is nothing to catch up on and no dates to miss.
- 2Do one small calming skill from the front, or skip straight to a blank page.
- 3Pour it out, scribble it out, or colour instead. Close it. That is the whole job.
This journal was made by lived experience. Its design is inspired by the hand-crafted personal journals Kari has been making and using for years to help her cope with her own emotions, anxiety and depression. That is why this one is so close to her heart: in a way, she has been working on it for years.
A 140-page write-in journal for the days when your head feels too full. The first pages teach small, practical calming skills; the rest is space to pour things out, with gentle prompts for when the blank page feels like too much.
The skills are the ones Kari uses in her own work and personal life: the 5-4-3-2-1 grounding technique, mindful breathing, the emotions wheel, the Worry Tree for sorting what you can change from what you cannot, reflection worksheets you can come back to, and colouring pages for the days when words will not come.
Wire-bound so it lies flat and stays open where you left it, because a journal you write in should not fight you. Printed in the UK on thick, generous pages, so the writing doesn't bleed through.
This journal is different. You can express yourself and release anxiety in many ways, you can have fun with it, there are no rules: use crayons or colourful markers for the colouring pages, write in your favourite ink pen, glue in photos and poems, scribble out emotions without fear of ripping the page.
And it does not end at the last page: a little QR code at the back leads to more free tools from us, including the free Worry Tree app, the journal's signature page as a quiet place on your phone. Private, works offline, no sign-up. Paper at home, pocket when you are out.
Each copy is printed just for you when you order, here in the UK, not pulled from a warehouse shelf. That takes a little longer: allow up to two weeks for it to reach you, though it is usually quicker.
This journal is educational self-help, not therapy or medical advice.
This is for you if
- your head feels too full and you want somewhere to put it
- you have tried journaling before and given up at the blank page
- you like paper, pens, glue and colour more than an app
- you want small, practical skills rather than theory
- you are buying for someone having a hard time and want something gentle
What it is not
- It is educational self-help, made from lived experience. It is not therapy or medical advice.
- It is not for a crisis. If today feels heavier than a few pages can hold, please talk to someone: Samaritans 116 123, SHOUT text 85258, Mind 0300 123 3393.
Questions people ask
How long does it take to arrive?
Each copy is printed for you in the UK when you order, then posted by Royal Mail. Usually about two weeks, often quicker.
Is it dated?
No. There are no dates and no days to miss, so it waits for you.
Do I need to know anything about journaling or DBT?
No. The skills at the front are explained in plain words, and the rest is space. Use as much or as little as helps.
Is this therapy?
No. It is educational self-help that Kari made from her own lived experience of anxiety and low days. If you are getting support already, it sits alongside that; it does not replace it.
Can I buy it for someone else?
Yes. Put their address in at checkout and it goes straight to them.
What if it is not for me?
You have 14 days from the day it arrives to change your mind. The shop terms have the details.
What is it like to hold?
A5, so it fits in a bag. 140 thick pages, a matt cover, and a black wire binding that lets it lie flat and stay open where you left it.
