hoarding support

Hoarding support in London. At your pace, on your terms.

If your home has become overwhelming and you don't know where to start, you're not alone. I provide compassionate, hands-on hoarding support across London, with no judgement, no clearance crews, no pressure. Just someone calm beside you who understands.

Based in West Ealing, I offer hoarding support in Ealing and across the surrounding boroughs. If it is low mood, ADHD or burnout more than hoarding: when life feels too much.

A calm, tidy bedroom, what's possible with ongoing support
what's possible

This is not house clearance.

Most hoarding cleaning services in London are run by clearance companies. They come in, clear out, and leave. The stuff is gone but nothing has changed. The same patterns, the same feelings, the same cycle.

I do the opposite. I work with you, not on your behalf. Every item is your decision. We go at your pace. If a session feels too much, we stop. If you change your mind about something, we put it back.

There's no need to hire expensive skips, either. Because we work at a manageable pace, I can dispose of things directly myself, recycle, or repurpose, and where larger items need to go, I'll arrange a charity pickup.

Nothing leaves your home without your say-so. That's the line I never cross.

I bring lived experience of mental health to this work. I've struggled with depression for decades, and I know the paralysis of a home that feels too far gone. I also know it's possible to come back from it, because I did.

what to expect

Your first sessions

  • We start with a conversation

Before I come to your home, we talk. You tell me what feels manageable, what's off-limits, and what you'd most like to change. There's no assessment form and no checklist.

  • The first consultation is free

No commitment. A free chat, by phone or video, or in person if you’re nearby, to talk through what feels manageable and how I work. We plan what ongoing support might look like together.

  • Nothing leaves without your say-so

This is the line I never cross. Every single item is your decision. I'm not here to declutter your home. I'm here to help you declutter your home, at your pace, with your choices.

  • We build a rhythm

Most clients who work with me on hoarding support choose ongoing sessions, fortnightly or weekly. We build sustainable habits together rather than doing a one-off blitz that doesn't stick.

why me

Lived experience, not just training.

Before Healing Spaces, I spent four years as a Lived Experience Professional in the NHS and two as a Peer Trainer at a Recovery College, including delivering a course called "To Keep or Not to Keep: Learning about Decluttering and why we hoard".

I'm DBS checked, trauma-informed, and trained at the Anna Freud Centre. But what matters most is this: I understand hoarding not just from a textbook, but from the inside. I know the shame, the overwhelm, and the paralysis. And I know what helps.

Hoarding help and support in West London, and across London

I'm based in West Ealing, and most of the people I support live nearby, in Ealing, Hounslow, and Hammersmith and Fulham. If that's you, I'm close by: here's more on decluttering across West London.

Who I help. Anyone whose home has become hard to live in, at any stage. Some people contact me themselves. Others are put in touch by a family member, a social worker, a community nurse, a housing officer or their GP.

If someone refers you. I aim to speak with you first, before any work begins. It's your home and your decision. I only give the person who referred you a short update if you're happy for me to. Professionals: how referrals work.

What the first visit looks like. We start with a free chat, by phone or video, or in person if you're nearby. We talk about what feels manageable and what's off-limits. If you'd like to go ahead, the first session is at least two hours, and we usually start with one small area. Nothing leaves without your say-so.

Help alongside mine. I work alongside other support, not instead of it. Your GP or local NHS talking therapies service can offer therapy for hoarding. Hoarding UK runs support groups and a helpline, and Mind can point you to local services. I'm the hands-on help at home.

If you're elsewhere in London or beyond, distance doesn't have to be a no. Travel within 40 minutes of W13 by public transport is included in my rates, and further afield I come by minicab and pass the fare on at cost, one fixed amount we agree before you book, never a surprise on the day. I've worked in homes across the city, so send me your postcode and I'll tell you straight.

common questions

You're probably wondering

Is this the same as house clearance?
No. House clearance is about removing things quickly, usually after someone has moved out or passed away. What I do is the opposite. I work alongside you, in your home, at your pace. Nothing is thrown away, donated, or moved without your explicit agreement. This is support, not clearance.
What if I'm not ready?
That's completely fine. The free initial consultation has no strings attached. If you try it and decide it's not the right time, that's a valid outcome. Some people contact me months before they feel ready for a first session. There's no pressure and no expiry.
Will you judge me?
No. I've worked with homes in every state you can imagine, and some you probably can't. I've also lived through my own mental health difficulties and know what it's like when keeping on top of things feels impossible. I'm not here to judge. I'm here to help.
Can someone refer me?
Yes. Social workers, community nurses, housing officers, GPs, and family members can all make a referral on your behalf. I'll always speak directly with you before any work begins. Visit the professionals page for more about the referral process.
How much does it cost?
The first consultation is always free. After that, work is priced by the hour, with a two-hour minimum. I hold discounted slots for people whose circumstances make full-rate sessions out of reach. See the pricing page for details.
Do you cover my area?
I'm based in Ealing (W13) and work across West and Central London, including Hounslow, Hammersmith, Fulham, Richmond, Twickenham, Chiswick, Brentford, Acton, Kensington, and Shepherd's Bush. Travel within 40 minutes of W13 by public transport is included in my rates, and further afield is nearly always possible: I come by minicab and pass the fare on at cost, one fixed amount agreed before you book, so if you're elsewhere, send me your postcode and we'll work it out.
Is hoarding help free on the NHS?
The NHS can offer talking therapy for hoarding, usually through your GP or local talking therapies service. Practical help at home is not usually covered. Some councils and charities offer support too, and I’m happy to point you to them.
Are there charities that help near me?
Yes. Hoarding UK runs support groups and a helpline, and Mind can point you to local services. I work alongside them and don’t replace them.
How quickly can you come?
After a first chat we agree a date and an arrival window that suits you; I’ll tell you if I’m running late.

Ready to talk?

The first step is a conversation, no commitment, no assessment form. Tell me a little about your situation and I'll come back to you myself, usually within a day or two.
